Ayush Sharma - Week 15: Swimming
Ever since I was young, I have always been swimming in one place or another. Swimming has always been one of my many passions, and it was something that I took interest in very keenly at such a young age. When it comes to swimming, many people around the world may have many different opinions about it, but to me, I only have one opinion on this amazing activity and sport. I believe that swimming is one of the most strenuous but astonishing sports of all time.
Growing up, I have made many different memories while swimming. Most of these memories are of me passing and excelling in the tests that I took at Calphin when I was a young kid. I still remember the days my parents used to take me at least three times a week to Calphin to learn how to swim, and then on the days I didn’t go, I used to watch tutorials on how to swim faster and how to become a better swimmer overall. It got to a point where I thought my passion for the sport would never fade…until it did.
There was a moment in time where I xwas stuck on a level and could not get past it in Calphin. I always used to fail my test, and after each failed test my overall motivation was completely gone. I thought my love for swimming was reaching a point where it was going to start fading. And that is exactly what happened.
Fast forward a couple of years, and I find myself in junior year of high school. I was looking for a job and had attended a job fair, and there I saw it! A booth for Calphin! I was so shocked because every fun memory I had experienced at Calphin was coming back to me…and now I had a chance to teach kids and give them the opportunity to make fun memories swimming as well! I applied for the job, and thankfully I got it. Today, I work at Calphin as a swim instructor and lifeguard, and it is a super fun job. All my coworkers are really chill people, and the individuals I teach love the sport as much as I did when I was younger.
